Our Review

There are very few robotic vacuums on the market that will work for both above ground and in-ground pools; the Aquabot Breeze XLS is one of them. In fact, it is one of the most versatile products offered from Aquabot. To look at how small it is, you wouldn’t believe that it has the ability to clean an entire pool in two hours. Couple that with how extremely easy it is to use and you’ve got an ideal robotic vacuum for any pool owner.

Design

The design of the Aquabot Breeze XLS is that of the mindset that less is more. It is small, considering what it is capable of. In fact, it is only 18 inches wide. That being said, don’t let the lack of exquisite design fool you into thinking that it isn’t a very good vacuum, because it is.

The vacuum, itself, sits on four padded wheels. On the bottom, the front and back both have a jet system that practically blows the debris off the bottom of the pool. Also, next to each jet, is a fixed brush that sweeps up any remaining debris.

Two Large Debris Baskets

What enables it to be so versatile, and clean the pool so quickly, is the fact that the Aquabot Breeze XLS has two large debris baskets that can hold even large leaves inside. These are easy to snap on and off to allow you to discard of the debris.

Making this vacuum even better are the two filter bags that are included. These filter bags fit perfectly inside the debris baskets. Even better is that fact that they can filter out particles as small as 2 microns in size. That means it’s like having a second filter crawling around your pool.

This helps your actual pool pump perform better because it has less debris and tiny organisms it has to filter out. Plus, your pool water will be much cleaner and fresher while cutting down on your chemical cost.

Adjustable axles

Most pools are completely unique in how they are built and, therefore, pose different obstacles for a vacuum. That’s why Aquabot has developed the Breeze XLS with adjustable axles. This helps you have more control over the movement of you vacuum.

By adjusting the axles, you can cause the vacuum to make tighter turns (good for round pools) or wider turns (good for oval pools.) In fact, you can even switch it up each time you run the cleaner to ensure that every inch of your pool is getting cleaned.

Quiet Running

One of the major downfalls of many automatic vacuum systems is how loud they are. In fact, some will cause annoyance all the way inside you home, let alone when you’re trying to relax by the pool while it cleans. What was noticed during testing about the Aquabot Breeze XLS was how quiet it actually was.

Though there is some noise, especially in the shallow end of your pool, over all, it’s very quiet. This makes enjoying your pool, even while the vacuum is running, more likely.

Easy to use

To start off with, the Aquabot Breeze XLS comes already assembled and ready to use. The only thing you will need to do to the cleaner itself is attach the filter bags inside the debris baskets. This is as easy as snapping each one in place. (there’s only one way each bag will fit. You can’t mess it up.)

From there, all you have to do is connect the power supply into your electrical outlet, plug the floating cord into the power supply, and drop the cleaner into the pool. The floating cord as an anti-tangle swivel built into the cord that allows the vacuum to operate without getting tangled. However, there will be a few occasions where the cord gets wound so tight that even the swivel doesn’t help. Most customers talk about how hard this is to remedy. TO fix it, all you have to do is pull the cord towards the power supply and the swivel will work itself out.

Cleaning the Filters

What is so nice about the Aquabot Breeze XLS is that the filter bags are reusable. This cuts down on your maintenance cost considerable, seeing as you don’t have to replace filters often. These bags can be washed out with a high-pressure water hose. For a deeper clean, throw them in the washer without any detergent.

While on the subject of the filters, let’s talk about how the Aquabot Breeze XLS actually cleans your pull. Most automatic vacuums for pools rely on the pool’s pump system to clean and provide suction. The vacuum system on the Aquabot Breeze XLS is fully self-contained. This means you don’t have to hook it up to your pool’s pump.

With this feature, you can say goodbye to the long, bothersome vacuum hoses, as well as the need to backwash your pump while vacuuming. The entire purpose behind a robotic vacuum is to cut your maintenance time drastically and get you back to enjoying your pool again.

Easy to use Controls

What is another feature that makes the Breeze XLS such an amazing robotic vacuum is how easy the controls are. There are simply two settings; small pool and large pool. The small pool setting will run the cleaner for one hour while the large pool will run it for 2 hours. Yes, you did read that right. It can clean your entire pool in less than two hours!

How can it clean an entire pool in two hours, you ask? This tiny machine can guzzle 5,100 gallons of water an hour! Considering the average pool has a little over 10,000 gallons of water in it, this little machine is a beast!

All you have to do is turn the unit on and select your cleaning cycle. If you’ve got a smaller pool but it’s dirtier than normal, set it to the large setting. If you think your pool will need more than 2 hours, that’s not problem either. Once the two hours are up, pull it out of the water, clean the debris baskets and filter bags, and it’s ready for round two.

For a pool owner, taking the plunge from a manual vacuum to an automatic, or robotic, system is a big step. After all, for some pool owners, part of their enjoyment is cleaning the pool. Crazy, we know. Yet, with the Aquabot Breeze XLS you don’t have to sacrifice your enjoyment.

It really is the perfect robotic vacuum for any pool owner. Plus, you’ll find enjoyment in watching even the heaviest debris get sucked in. Thought going to this style of system can be on the pricey side, you’ll be thankful you took the plunge after your first cycle.
